Cox's Bazar airport is closed for "Mahasen"

Cox’s Bazar airport is shut down by authorities for all kind of services on Wednesday as cyclone ‘ Mahasen’ is moving  towards the Bangladesh coastal area of Chittagong.
Shah Amanat International Airport of Chittagong will shut down at 4.oopm, after which all flights will stand terminated until further notice, administrator said.

These measures comes as ‘Mahasen' is currently hovering less than 800 kilometres off the Bangladesh's coastline and advancing towards it.Bangladesh Meteorological Department has recently issued danger signal ‘7' over the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar coast, including offshore islands and low-lying river islands. All ‘operations'at Shah Amanat will close from 4:00pm, the airport's Manager squadron leader Rabiul Hossain said.Cox's Bazar District Commissioner Ruhul Amin confirmed the close of the airport at the seaside resort around 1:00pm.
